What is accessibility?
Web accessibility refers to the practice of making websites that can be used by people of all abilities and disabilities.
Elements that affect accessibility include:
- Those with a visual impairment
- Those who are blind
- Those people who are deaf or have difficulty hearing
- Those who find a keyboard or mouse hard to use
- Those who find words difficult to read
- Those with epilepsy who may have seizures brought on by flickering or flashing content
- Colour Blind users
The World Wide Web Consortium
(W3C) is an international community that develops open standards to ensure the long-term growth of the Web and have developed web content accessibility guidelines. We endeavour to meet these guidelines and monitor future developments to improve the way the website operates.
